The Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) is a conservation organization dedicated to protecting wildlife and their habitat, active in almost 60 countries. Our vision is to save wildlife and wild places worldwide through science, conservation action, education, and inspiring people to value nature. WCS has been working in China since 1995, with focus on large mammals and their habitat. China is a key country for WCS due to its significant domestic biodiversity and large economic impact in Asia and Africa. WCS China is looking for a dynamic and committed Country Director who will drive the continued high performance levels of the China programme, leading on the delivery of efficiency, a highly professional and skilled staff, and strong financial resources.
WCS is seeking to undertake a thorough analysis of the current legal and institutional situation within China, Vietnam and Laos with regard to wildlife trafficking in order to provide an accurate and comprehensive understanding of the legal and institutional frameworks that exist in each country to address illegal wildlife trafficking.
